Straw Ballot: 2008 Presidential Election

This is an open poll. The views reflected here do not necessarily represent the opinions of New Man magazine readers.

Mike Huckabee is pro-life, pro-family and the happily married father of three who is a former pastor. After being governor of Arkansas for 10 years, he may be the best qualified candidate to become U.S. president in 2008. Click here to read our story from the July/August 2007 issue of New Man.

Why did you include Fred Thompson, who is not a declared candidate, but not Al Gore (also undeclared)? Gore is ranking second among the democrats in some polls.

Fred Thompson has announced that he will be officially declaring on July 4th. We have not heard anything about Al Gore possibly declaring.

I would have voted for Ron Paul but he is not included. I wonder why he keeps being excluded from he polls that i want to vote in even though he is a legitimate candidate. It's frustrating.

Please allow people to vote for Ron Paul , he is the only candidate that truly represents American values in this desperate time of need, Do not be like the rest of the Corp/Goverment controled media, that is attempting once again to push "their " candidates.

Where is Ron Paul? Why are you excluding a legitimate Candidate for this crop of run of the mill politicians?

This poll was set up to include only the candidates who were mentioned in the July/August issue of New Man magazine.

I read the July August issue of your magazine and there is no mention of Ron Paul in there yet you feature people not even running as of now. In your article on Mike Huckabee you lament the lack of media attention for "lower tier" candidates yet all you feature (aside from Huckabee) are the "top tier" candidates which would force me to hold my nose and vote. As someone who believes in Ron Paul's ideas and think he is a very honorable man that actually believes the constitution means something, I am offended that you have not included him. Yet Ron Paul has a higher percentage of support in the latest Gallup poll than Mike Huckabee whom you think is all so wonderful.

I cannot believe (and I am a "believer!") that Ron Paul was not given significant coverage, first in your magazine along with Huckabee, and second in this blog poll. Huckabee is a fine man, but a GREAT disservice is done by excluding Ron Paul. Have you seen the polls after all the televised debates!?! New Man needs thorough coverage of Ron Paul - and at the very least, to any man reading this, you MUST google/youtube search Ron Paul. I live in Canada and would almost consider moving to the US to vote for this man of God and integrity!

Is "New Man" a Christian site?? It seems more like an Illuminatti site! Why do you continue to ditch Ron Paul??? Do you have a love for the TRUTH?

Gosh -

New Man Magazine has been attacked by the Ron Paul Revolutionaries. Do any of you people have real jobs or do you just live off k-rations and road kill?

So here are the questions for you. If RP is such an awesome candidate and is gaining ground - why did he come in 3rd the poorly attended TX straw polls last weekend. These straw polls were poorly attended by the other candidates - RP should have been able to win these in his home state. If he can't win there he can't win anywhere.

Main stream Americans understand Ron Paul is wrong on national defense. He's wrong in his understanding of the threat posed by Islamic terrorists. He said in the SC debate that the U.S. brought about the 9/11 attacks.

Second question, why does Ron Paul call himself Republican when he is really a Libertarian? Is that really honest?

nice twist on reality wbw, I believe its called double speak. You marginalizing buzz words have no hold on those who have a love for the truth.

Looks to me that we may have a winner with a Huckabee/Thompson ticket. Anyone else think so?

Fred Thompson is outdated and has no passion. Ron Paul has passion but has the wrong message(plus he is allowing his supporters to be rude, loud and obnoxious!) I lump Barack, Clinton, Giuliani & Romney in the same boat - left and way left of center. The rest ... some have great issues and some don't...and some just don't have what it takes to be the next President of the United States. Mike Huckabee though has it all. He looks good, he sounds good and he IS GOOD. He is sincere and speaks with truth, candor and passion. He recognizes and understands what America faces. He can communicate to EVERYONE from any party. He's get my vote!

If you've never seen or heard him go to his website and see what I mean. Pick any of his many videos to see what I'm talking about.
